The Practice
Panmont is a sole-principal advisory practice based in Auckland, serving a small number of business owners across New Zealand. Engagements are relationship-led rather than project-based. The practice holds a limited number of retainers at any time, and new clients are taken on by introduction.
The Work
Clients are business owners whose affairs have grown beyond what a compliance relationship can hold. Panmont operates inside the finance function as the continuous financial presence — across the structural, commercial, and operational questions that arise as the business moves.
In practice, this ranges from structural and financing questions, to project feasibility and cashflow planning, to governance, reporting, and coordination with banks, lawyers, and counterparties. The work is defined by position rather than scope; what it looks like in any given month depends on what the business is doing.
The Principal
Panmont is founded and run by Fuyang Liu. Prior to establishing the practice, Fuyang spent five years as an Associate Director at a Big Four firm in New Zealand, capping a ten-year tenure with the firm. The work centred on privately held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and cross-border family groups — across tax structuring, entity design, and transaction advisory.
The practice is operated on the principle that the client always deals with the principal directly. Work is not delegated.
Credentials & Regulatory Status
Fuyang is a Chartered Accountant and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), holding a Certificate of Public Practice. The practice is regulated by CA ANZ.
